Greetings and Updates from CCVCL

Hi All,
Working at CCVCL CCNY

How are your summer so far? Relaxing and having fun? I have "disappeared" for a while since I have been very busy recently. I worked at Elro until June 30, and started my new summer assignment at the City College Visual Computing Lab (CCVCL). The main focus is on the Assistive Technologies for the visually impaired people. Since it is a new field for me, I have devoted a lot of time to catch up.

During my literature survey phase, I came across a few interesting technical papers and videos. Some of them may become candidates of our research topics for next semester. I'd like to start sharing some of them with you over the summer, and you can give your comments and feedback.

In addition, I strongly encourage you all to THINK BIG! To think about the major problems, issues you have encountered in your life and our society which might be possible to be solved by STEM methods and skills. Whenever you come across interesting and innovative ideas, something having potential to impact our society, or improving people's lives in a dramatic way, you are more than welcome to post it on the blog and inspire all of us. Our class does not start from September at Elro, it starts from NOW! (Whenever and wherever you start observing, thinking, and asking questions.)

Hope to hear from you soon and have a great summer!
